These rules helped make football a more organized and exciting sport to watch, and soon other colleges and universities began adopting them.

Today, it is one of the most popular sports in the United States and is played by millions of people at all levels, from kids in backyard games to professional athletes. While its rules and regulations have changed significantly over the years, American football remains a beloved pastime for many Americans.
